Assam Rifles organized—Yoga Week celebrations in Phek and Meluri districts, and a Local Cuisine and Weaves Fair in Tuensang.
According to Assam Rifles source, the Yoga Week was conducted as a lead-up to International Day of Yoga with the participants of 500, including Assam Rifles personnel and the local community. Various yoga sessions and demonstrations were held to promote physical and mental well-being. Assam Rifles emphasized its commitment to fostering a healthy lifestyle among its personnel and the local populace, recognizing the role of fitness in maintaining operational efficiency.
In Tuensang, Assam Rifles hosted the Local Cuisine and Weaves Fair under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative. The fair showcased Nagaland’s rich traditional crafts and culinary heritage through 12 stalls managed by local artisans and entrepreneurs. Items such as handlooms, clothing, dry fruits, decorative crafts, and local cuisines were displayed, promoting cultural diversity and community participation. The event attracted over 500 visitors, strengthening local livelihoods, preserving traditional skills, and fostering mutual cultural understanding.
