Assam Rifles, as part of its Sadbhavna Project, constructed a water tank and a waiting shed at Meluri district. The newly constructed water tank will provide reliable supply of water, alleviating the struggles of people during periods of water scarcity. According to Assam Rifles source, the initiative was a testament to Assam Rifles commitment to the welfare and development of the local community.
Assam Rifles also organised an educational program on World Cancer Day in Peren district, on February 4. The awareness programme was conducted with an aim to educate the people of Peren town about the ill effects or cancer, various causes of Cancer and options available to them to diagnose it early and treat accordingly. The programme commenced with a lecture by the medical staff of Assam Rifles which covered the causes, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
