AR renovates war memorial

War memorial at Phoolbari Chowk, Kohima combines a cutting edge technology with large iconic granite slabs bearing the scroll of honour each having powerful stories to narrate about the brave Naga Soldiers who fought valiantly and scarified their lives for the nation. Constructed in 2004 the memorial was in ruins due to inadequate funds and maintenance till 26 AR undertook a DGAR MCA project 2007-08 and renovated the site providing a new facelift.
The overall aim of Assam Rifles to provide a facelift to the memorial was to give due recognition and keep alive the memories of the achievements and sacrifices of all the valiant Naga Soldiers who served till martyrdom upholding the ethos and values of Army in defence of freedom of the nation. At night it’s a travelers delight watching the AR logo jutting out against the backdrop of colourful lights and ear soothing and refreshing melody of flowing water oozing out of a aesthetically designed fountain adding glamour to the memorial.
