As part of the ongoing crackdown to prevent illegal activities, Assam Rifles personnel seized ‘Myanmarese areca nut’ worth Rs. 2 crore, packed in 1040 bags from Padampukhuri area, Dimapur on July 10. In a press note, PRO (IGAR-N) stated that the operation was carried out based on specific information. The seized contraband was later handed over to Custom preventive division officials, Dimapur.
