Assam Rifles troops apprehended two individuals with smuggled areca nuts in Lalmati area, Kohima on February 18.
According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), based on specific input, troops of Assam Rifles established a spot MVCP and apprehended two individuals and seized 15 bags of Myanmarese areca nuts (worth around Rs 2.4 lakh), one truck (MN 01 AA 0209) and Rs 1,510 in cash. The apprehended individuals along with the recovered items were handed over to customs department, Dimapur for further investigation.
