AR undertakes outreach, training and wellness initiatives

Assam Rifles carried out a series of impactful initiatives aimed at fostering national integration, youth development, community engagement and wellness across Nagaland
Training Camp for NCC Cadets at Sainik School, Punglwa
Assam Rifles conducted a 10-day Annual Training Camp for NCC cadets of Sainik School, Punglwa, Peren district. The programme included weapon handling, drill, fire-fighting, tent construction, camping and sports activities. The training aimed to instil discipline, teamwork and leadership among the cadets, preparing them for future roles in nation-building.
Rubaru counselling session in Dimapur
Under the Rubaru initiative, Assam Rifles organised a counselling session themed “Mera Wajood (My Identity)” for 49 families in Dimapur. The session focused on mental well-being, family harmony and emotional support. Monthly sessions continue to be held, celebrating the strength and identity of Assam Rifles families.
Fit India Freedom Run 6.0 at Niuland
As part of the Fit India Movement, Assam Rifles conducted the Fit India Freedom Run 6.0 at Niuland on October 18. Personnel and local students participated enthusiastically, promoting physical fitness and national pride. The event included a scenic run, motivational address and a pledge to prioritise health and wellness.
Assam Rifles reaffirmed its role as the “Sentinels of the North East and Friends of the Hill People,” through these diverse initiatives aimed at strengthening bonds, empowering youth and promoting holistic well-being.
Mass tree plantation drive at Mokie village
As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental conservation and community development, Assam Rifles organised a mass tree plantation drive at Mokie village on October 18. A total of 527 saplings were planted by personnel of COB Zhipu, 39 Assam Rifles, with active participation from local residents. The drive aimed to enhance green cover and raise awareness on ecological sustainability. Assam Rifles personnel educated villagers on the importance of tree plantation and its role in improving climate and soil conditions. Saplings of various species, suited to the local terrain, were planted during the campaign.
