ARC & AR reach out to Lekieram village

Ahthibung Region Club (ARC) with the help of local Assam Rifle battalion took the initiative to reach out to the economically outcast sector under Peren district distributed household items to the Lekieram villagers on July 24.

In a press release, ARC stated that the team helped the villagers in preparing various applications for seeking help from related departments of government (centre as well as state). It stated that on learning the issues that the villagers have been facing lack of proper water supply, absence of electricity, primary school for their children, Anganwadi centre for basic health and well being of women and a road/ gravel track connecting to main road, it prompted the team to reach out to the people.

ARC, Ahthibung suggested the village authorities to contact concern departments requesting fir assistance. Lekieram village was recognised in 2017 and officially inaugurated on April 30, 2019. In 2012, few families from Peletkie village under Peren district migrated to this newly established village. 

Village CouncilChairman, Teilubuing and secretary, Azui applauded the efforts taken by ARC, Ahthibung and AR for the needy people.
