AR’s NIT team visit Kaziranga National Park; organise medical camp

Assam Rifles as part of its Civic Action Programme carried out various welfare activities and awareness progammes. Students of border villages who were on a National Integration Tour (NIT) organised by Assam Rifles, visited Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on January 8. Students witnessed the rich biodiversity and conservation efforts at the park.

They were also made to understand the delicate balance of ecosystems and the importance of environmental protection.
Assam Rifles also organized a medical camp in Tsundang village, a remote tribal community situated in Pungro Subdivision.
According to Assam Rifles source, the event was aimed to address the healthcare needs of the underserved population in the region.
The medical camp, led by dedicated military medical professionals, provided a spectrum of healthcare services, including general check-ups, vaccinations, eye examinations, and distribution of essential medicines.


Meanwhile, Assam Rifles organised a wreath laying ceremony to remember the gallant act of Rifleman (GD) Deen Dayal Singh & to commemorate his supreme sacrifice. A total of 83 soldiers including two officers paid homage to the brave soldier at the Unit War Memorial, Jalukie on January 8.


It may be recalled that on January 8, 2001, while the unit was deployed at Shangshak (Manipur), Rifleman (GD) Deen Dayal Singh sacrificed his life in the line of duty while fighting with militants in Ukhrul, Manipur. Assam Rilfes troops also visited native place of the braveheart where they met his relatives and presented a token of remembrance on behalf of Assam Rifles.
