‘Art Village’ inaugurated in Kohima

To encourage creativity and independence in children, The ‘Art Village’ (creative Art school) was inaugurated and dedicated by Kohima Lotha Baptist church pastor, Renthungo Kikon at DBS colony BSF road Kohima on Tuesday. 

Senior artist and retired deputy director, Art and Culture Vilalhou Noudi in his address said that establishing ‘Art Village’ was to nurture and promote the creative talents and abilities of the people in a simple and humble manner. 

Noudi said life between birth and death was all about art, and therefore “we must live a purposeful life”. He said art was all about creating something good and beautiful, something lovely and admirable and therefore promoting and involving in arts directly or indirectly help boost creativity. 

Executive engineer generation division Department of power, Penrithung said that the proprietor of Art village, Mhao Aaron Odyuo has testified his determination, perseverance and sincerity by opening the village. 

Joint secretary Art and Culture, Jamithung Lotha said he was impressed with the proprietor’s activities and dedication for the love of art. 

Highlighting about the Art village, the proprietor, Mhao Aaron Odyuo said he worked for three years to start the village. 

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Khrievotsuno Terhase.

The Art village has four art teachers offering beginners course, drawing, landscape, still life and portrait of various duration and time.
