ARTC land hold an ‘economic blockade’: BAN

DIMAPUR, JAN 10 (NPN)

Business Association of Nagas (BAN) has termed the Assam Rifles Training Centre’s (ARTC) continued occupation of around 148 acres of Dimapur airport land as an “economic blockade”.
In a representation to Ministry of Home Affairs, BAN president L Mongkum Jamir said ARTC’s refusal to vacate the land, despite an alternative site being allotted at Shokhuvi, was the biggest infrastructural bottleneck stalling growth and investment in Nagaland.
Calling it an “act of economic strangulation”, BAN sought urgent central intervention, warning that continued delay could trigger public ire and force the business community to rethink its engagement in the state.
