Artisans display homemade craft products at Gandhi Shilp bazaar

Hundreds of artisans from across the country are displaying their homemade products at the Gandhi Shilp Bazaar, at Urban Haat, Dimapur on Tuesday.
During the 10-day, the artisans would be displaying exclusive designed hand woven ladies & kids wear, innovative & decorative crafts and jewellery.
The mega event was inaugurated by Officer on Special Duty (OSD) department of industries & commerce, Bendangtoshi Longkumer.
In his brief address, Bendangtoshi thanked DC (H), MOT, Government of India for sponsoring Gandhi Shilp bazaar in Dimapur. 
He said organizing such events was the needed since it provide commercial platform for the artisans across the country to come together in sharing their innovative ideas. 
The event is being organized by Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation (NHHDC) limited and sponsored by office of the development commissioner (handicrafts), ministry of textile, government of India.
In a short speech, Managing Director (MD) NHHDC, Er.S.Temsulong Jamir said that ten days event would strengthen the marketing linkages of crafts in domestic and overseas markets. Senior officials from NHHDCL and other dignitaries attended the inaugural programme. 
Besides specially designed crafts from Assam, Meghalaya & Nagaland, colorful women attires from Bodoland, Assam, imitation jewellery from Pondicherry, cane & bamboo furniture and sitalpatti from Kochbihar of West Bengal, Kohlapuri shoes from Kohlapur, crafts from Panaji, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Aurangabad of Mumbai, Indorem Guwalior and Jabalpur from Madhya Pradesh would be available.
