Artisans trained on ‘banana fibre craft’

Kudatech Skill Centre (KSC), Dimapur launched a training programme on “banana fibre craft” sponsored by National Bank for Rural & Agricultural Development (NABARD) where 60 artisans were trained and certified. KSC project coordinator, Elizabeth Chophi informed that the training programme was inaugurated on April 25 by AGM Nagaland RO, NABARD, H.C. Biswas and was conducted in two batches.


At the valedictory programme chief guest, GM Nagaland RO, NABARD, Tiakala Ao shared tips on various employment opportunities on skill development. KSC informed that this was a capacity building programme where participants were trained to make various handmade craft with banana fibre. It said the scutcher waste, as by product can also be utilised to make vermicompost. Many women participants have planned on working from home by producing customised handmade products while few beneficiaries are planning for unit set up and some unemployed youth have been provided with job placement, KSC informed.
