Itanagar, Aug 27 (PTI): Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Thursday called upon young storytellers, filmmakers, photographers, students, vloggers and other content creators to use the Gems of India initiative to showcase the state’s rich culture, heritage and untold stories to the country and the world.
Mein, in a social media post, said the initiative offered a valuable platform for Arunachal’s creative talent to bring the state’s unique identity into the national spotlight.
“Calling all storytellers, creators, filmmakers, photographers, students & vloggers of Arunachal Pradesh! Gems of India, an initiative under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting’s WAVES/MyWAVES platform, is your chance to put Arunachal on the map,” he said in a post on X.
The deputy chief minister said Arunachal Pradesh was rich with stories waiting to be told and urged young creators to explore and present the many facets of the state.
“I urge our young creators to step forward and showcase the true spirit of Arunachal Pradesh to India and the world. Let’s show the nation what makes Arunachal a true gem,” Mein added.
The Gems of India Challenge, launched by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting as a nationwide initiative under the MyWAVES platform, seeks to identify, nurture and promote grassroots digital creators, officials said.
The initiative invites people to create short videos highlighting the unique stories, culture, heritage and other distinctive features of their districts and regions.
The initiative is aimed at providing emerging creators with a national platform while encouraging them to document and share India’s diverse cultural heritage and local stories through digital content, they added.
