GUWAHATI, JUL 23 (AGENCIES): The flood situation in Assam continues to remain severe, with officials confirming that 41 lives have been lost and more than 6.5 lakh people are affected across 11 districts, reports Northeast Today.
Relief and rescue operations are being carried out by the Army, Air Force, and other agencies, who are employing drones to deliver essential supplies to stranded residents in remote areas.
Several major rivers in the northeastern state are flowing above the danger mark, worsening the crisis and leaving thousands displaced. Authorities are working tirelessly to provide aid, but the scale of devastation has made the task increasingly challenging.
The ongoing deluge has disrupted daily life, damaged infrastructure, and heightened concerns about the safety of vulnerable communities. Rescue teams remain on high alert as the situation shows little sign of immediate improvement.
