Rangia, Jul 3 (PTI): A 22-year-old woman from Assam’s Tamulpur district has been missing from Bengaluru for the last week, family members claimed on Friday.
The woman, who hails from Harinchara village along the Indo-Bhutan border, had been working in a private company in the southern city for the last six months, her father claimed.
He said she first went to Tamil Nadu about a year back in search of a job and was later employed by a company in Bengaluru.
She was staying in a rented house with three other women.
Her family lodged a complaint at Kumarikata police station in the district after they were informed that she had gone missing on June 26.
Police said they are investigating the matter and have informed higher authorities.
Her parents have appealed to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to help trace their missing daughter and bring her home.
