Guwahati, Jun 25 (PTI): Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Thursday reviewed various welfare-oriented schemes and initiatives being implemented across the state, officials said.
The governor reviewed the progress, impact and effectiveness of the schemes and outreach programmes undertaken by the Lok Bhavan, they said.
He said that inspired by the people-centric governance model and the vision of Antyodaya championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, these initiatives have been conceived to bring about meaningful and measurable improvements in the lives of the beneficiaries.
Stressing the need for efficient, transparent and timely implementation of all schemes, Acharya underscored the importance of ensuring that governance remains responsive to the needs of the people, according to an official release. Detailed discussions were held on the grassroots execution of the schemes, their reach among intended beneficiaries and measures to further enhance effectiveness, it said.
The governor directed the officials to strengthen public awareness, improve accessibility and ensure robust monitoring of all initiatives.
He also underscored the importance of adopting a more citizen-centric approach in implementing welfare programmes, and called upon officers and staff to work with commitment towards advancing the objectives of inclusive development and public welfare.
