Assam Rifle conducts various activities

Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (N) conducted various activities across the state on May 25 to 27.


WOKHA: Assam Rifles organized a drug awareness programme at Isaiah Ability Higher Secondary School, Wokha on May 27. The program was aimed to educate students on the dangers of drug abuse and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.


At the event, Assam Rifles officers delivered lectures on understanding drug abuse, explained on the types of drugs commonly misused, their ill effects on the body and mind, and preventive measures which can be taken up to avoid drug usage. The event concluded with an interactive session between the students and organisers.


MOKOKCHUNG: Assam Rifles organized a donation drive as part of the “Meri Life Initiative” programme, at Chungtia, Mokokchung, on May 26. During the event, both troops and local civilians were briefed on LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) initiative launched by the Indian Government as a mass movement promoting “mindful and deliberate utilization, instead of mindless and destructive consumption of resources”, with the aim of protecting and preserving the environment.


The Assam Rifles troops and their families conducted donation drive, distributing household items, clothes, stationary, shoes and other essential food items to Care and Support (Orphanage) Home, where a total of 39 children were benefitted in this donation drive.


KIPHIRE: The troops also conducted security meeting at Fakim village, Kiphire on May 26.
Village authorities from Fakim village and 26 civilians attended the meeting. The agenda of the meeting was to analyze prevailing security situation in the village and also to foster cordial relation between Assam Rifles and villagers.


DIMAPUR: As part of Meri Life Amplification 2024, Assam Rifles organized an awareness lecture on “Sustainable Use of Resources” with the students and teachers of Government Primary School, Mishikito, Dimapur on May 27. The lecture covered a wide array of topics, including the Water saving, energy consumption, pollution etc.


A total of 60 students and 13 teachers attended the lecture. Earlier, on May 25, Assam Rifles conducted lecture on “Healthy Lifestyle Adoption” to raise awareness about healthy living and its benefits, at Christian Mission Higher Secondary School, Diphupar, Dimapur.


The event witnessed interaction with senior officials wherein emphasis on importance of diet, physical and mental health wellbeing were discussed. The event also witnessed participation of troops of Assam Rifles, 14 teachers and 250 students.
