Assam Rifle seizes morpheneworth Rs. 3.5 crore in Mizoram

Assam Rifles troops, acting on specific intelligence inputs, seized 3.518 kg of morphene valued at approximately Rs. 3.5 crore during a joint operation in Ngopa, Saitual district, Mizoram, on February 10.
According to a release from Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), the operation was carried out in coordination with Saitual Police and the Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau. The contraband was recovered after intercepting a vehicle, in which two individuals, identified as Kasim and Mukeem Ali, were transporting the narcotics. The apprehended persons, along with the seized morphene and vehicle, were handed over to Saitual Police Station for further investigation and legal action. Assam Rifles stated that the successful recovery underscores its unwavering commitment to combating smuggling and eradicating the drug menace in Mizoram.
