Assam Rifles battalions conduct activities

Kiphire, Shamatore, and Phek Battalions of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organized lecture sessions and a free medical camp within their jurisdictions.

Kiphire Battalion: Kiphire Battalion (7 Assam Rifles) delivered a lecture on “Education for progression” at Trinity High School, Kiphire on January 2.
According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), the lecture was intended to create awareness on the importance of education not only among them as students but for the family and society as well. 65 students attended the lecture.
Shamatore Battalion: Shamatore Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted a free Medical Camp at Wenshoi village, Tuensang district on December 27. 
HQ IGAR (N), PRO, Lt Col A Chakrabarti, in a press release stated that the aim of the medical camp was to provide free medical treatment to local residents of remote areas devoid of requisite medical facilities. Free medicines were provided to the ailing. Apart from medical assistance, basic awareness on HIV/AIDS including ill effects of drugs was also imparted. A specially constituted medical team under Regimental Medical Officer treated 147 patients — 37 males, 63 females and 47 children.
Phek Battalion: Phek Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted a lecture on “Government Schemes” at Akhen village on December 9. 
According to PRO HQ IGAR (N), the lecture was organized with an aim to spread awareness among youth about existing schemes of the central and state governments and to ensure that they derive maximum benefit out of these. The importance of Aadhaar card for availing various facilities was also covered. 35 residents attended the lecture.
