Assam Rifles conduct civic action projects at Yakur, Shamator

15 Assam Rifles conducted a free medical camp on December 28 in Yakur village, Tuensang district to provide medical treatment to the local populace where requisite medical facilities were not available. A specially constituted medical team from 15 Assam Rifles conducted the medical camp. Altogether 229 patients were given the necessary treatment and free medicines.
According to AR, the people of Yakur village and adjoining villages appreciated the initiative of 15 Assam Rifles for organizing the medical camp.
In a similar civic action project, 15 Assam Rifles provided assistance to the Shamatore village authorities in levelling the village football ground and extension of the approach road at Shamatore village. The battalion undertook the work with its own resources and finished the project in two days.
15 Assam Rifles on, December 29 dedicated the ground and approach road as a Christmas and New Year gift for the local people of Shamatore village.
