Assam Rifles conduct various activities

Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) observed National Immunisation week by conducting a vaccination drive at Unit Hospital in Jalukie town of Peren on April 30. The security force also organised security and coordination meeting with the GBs and chairmen of Dhansiripar area at Doyapur village, Chumoukedima.
According to PRO defence, a total of 25 children were immunised with Oral polio vaccine, Inactivated polio vaccine (IPV) , vitamin A, Pentavalent vaccine, Rotavirus vaccine, and Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine at the immunisation week. The children were between the ages of 6 weeks to 5 years, were administered vaccines recommended as per the National Immunization Schedule.
Coordination meeting
At the security and coordination meeting, the Assam Rifles and village leaders of Doyapur discussed on the present situation prevailing in the area. The villagers were made aware of the various ways to join Armed Forces and the assistance being provided by battalion to the intending candidates. They were also made aware of various Civic Action Programmes carried out by Assam Rifles and suggestions were sought from them regarding new development works for upliftment of villages and skill development programmes for the youths. The meet was attended by GBs and chairmen from 29 villages in the area.
Visit to ‘Company Base’ for students
Assam Rifles Bn organised a visit to “Company Operating Base” for school students under the initiative “A Day with Company Commander” at Old Minister Hill, Kohima on May 1. A total of 234 students and 11 teachers from eight schools of Kohima Town participated in the event, spending their day with the Company Commander and actively engaged in various creative activities. Wreath laying to pay homage to the “War Heroes,” display of weapons and equipment were done at the Company Operating Base. A motivational video was screened, based on history and contributions of Assam Rifles as the oldest force in the North East protecting people and helping youths in shaping their careers for a successful future and nation building.
In separate programme, Assam Rifles organised a visit to “Company Base” for school students under the initiative, “A Day with Company Commander” at Changlanshu village, Mon on April 30. A total of 73 students along with six teachers and one pastor spent their day with the company commander and actively participated in fun activities which were organized throughout the day.
