DIMAPUR: Assam Rifles organised a series of community outreach, humanitarian and security-related activities across Nagaland, including family counselling, landslide response, emergency medical assistance, a security coordination meeting and a youth sports event.
Family counselling session in Dimapur: Assam Rifles conducted a counselling session for families under its Rubaru initiative in Dimapur district. Organised on the theme “Mera Wajood, Suno Meri Awaaz”, the programme was led by psychology counsellor Dr. Vandini Setia, who spoke on “Managing Anger Without Guilt.”
A total of 31 families attended the interactive session, which focused on promoting emotional well-being and family harmony. Assam Rifles said the monthly Rubaru sessions were aimed at supporting the families of its personnel.
Rescue team clears landslide debris in Kiphire: Assam Rifles launched rescue operation after a landslide struck Forest Ward in Kiphire on August 3.
The rescue team alongside village guards, village council members and local residents cleared debris, reopened the blocked road and prevented further damage to nearby houses threatened by the landslide.
Local residents and the village council appreciated the AR’s prompt response and assistance in restoring connectivity and safeguarding lives and property.
Emergency medical aid extended in Noklak: Assam Rifles provided emergency medical treatment to a teacher from Noklak village, after he was admitted to the Unit Hospital on August 2 with recurrent vomiting, dizziness, chest pain and excessive sweating.
Medical personnel carried out clinical examinations, conducted necessary investigations and administered treatment, following which the patient’s condition stabilised. Family members expressed gratitude for the timely medical assistance.
Security meeting held ahead of I-Day: Assam Rifles also conducted a security meeting with the Choklangan Village Council at Chokla on August 3 as part of preparations for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.
The meeting, attended by 12 village representatives, including the GB, village chairman and council members, focused on the prevailing security situation, maintaining peace and vigilance, and encouraging villagers to report any suspicious activities.
