DIMAPUR: Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp at Tsiepama Village on September 20 as part of its continued efforts to extend essential healthcare services to communities in remote and underserved areas.
The initiative aimed to provide accessible medical assistance to local residents and promote awareness on preventive healthcare, hygiene and healthy living practices. A total of 122 villagers, including 18 children, 53 women and 51 men, benefited from the camp. Beneficiaries underwent medical check ups and received free consultation, medicines and health advice.
The medical team interacted with villagers, addressed health concerns and guided them on the importance of timely medical attention and regular monitoring. Awareness sessions were also conducted on hygiene, sanitation, nutrition, first aid and preventive healthcare. The sessions highlighted practical measures for maintaining personal and community health, preventing common illnesses and adopting healthier lifestyles, with emphasis on cleanliness, nutritious food and timely medical assistance.
The medical camp reflected Assam Rifles’ commitment to supporting the local population through civic action initiatives. By bringing healthcare services closer to the community, the initiative contributed to improved health awareness and well being while fostering trust, goodwill and stronger bonds between Assam Rifles and the local populace.
