Assam Rifles displays weapons on R Day

Assam Rifles have celebrated the 66th Republic Day in Dimapur and Peren with great fervor and festivity. Assam Rifles Battalions under the aegis of Headquarters 6 Sector Assam Rifles provided assistance to the civil administration for the conduct of events and celebrations.
At DDSC Stadium, Dimapur, 29 Assam Rifles displayed New Generation Weapons and equipment being used by Assam Rifles to increase awareness among the locals. The marching contingent of 37 Assam Rifles and pipe band of 29 Assam Rifles participated in the parade and their performance was appreciated by the crowd.
On the occasion, 29 Assam Rifles also organised a stall to impart knowledge to the local youth regarding selection procedure and benefits of joining Armed Forces/ Assam Rifles with the help of display boards and a movie video.
At Peren, marching contingent and pipe band of 18 Assam Rifles participated in the Republic Day Parade and received appreciations from the locals.
In a separate programme, 17 Assam Rifles has organized a free medical camp at Changpang -II village in Wokha district on January 24.
A large number of villagers from Changpang -II village attended the camp and were treated by the medical team headed by the Regimental Medical Officer of 17 Assam Rifles. The people were diagnosed for a variety of ailments including respiratory tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, skin infection etc. They were provided medicines for these ailments and some of them were advised further investigations. Around 183 patients including kids, ladies, gents and elders attended the camp.
Meanwhile, civil population has appreciated the efforts put in by the Assam Rifles and they urged the Assam Rifles authority for such assistance in future as well.
