Assam Rifles free medical camp in Thetsumi and Nokhu

Chieswema Battalion and Shamatore Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted free medical camps at Thetsumi Village under Chizami Sub Division, Phek and Nokhu village, Tuensang on January 8 and 9, respectively. Assam Rifles, in a press release, stated that the aim of the medical camp was to provide free medical treatment to local residents of remote areas devoid of requisite medical facilities. A specially constituted medical team examined 201 patients, of which 76 were male, 88 female and 37 were children at Thesumi. In Nokhu village 268 patients were examined and treated (68 males, 135 females and 65 children). Treatment and free medicines were provided to the ailing. Basic awareness on health education including precautions against common viral diseases was also taught.
