Assam Rifles hold tribute ceremony; Yoga session

Assam Rifles organised a series of meaningful outreach programmes across Nagaland on June 16, combining tribute and wellness initiatives for both veterans and youth.
In Kohima, a solemn wreath laying ceremony was held at the Assam Regiment War Memorial, Councillor Hill, to honour soldiers of the Assam Regiment who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Wreaths were laid in their memory, followed by a moving pipe band performance and a jazz rendition of the iconic regimental song “Badluram Ka Badan Zameen Ke Neeche Hai,” which stirred deep emotions among those present.
Assam Regiment veterans from Kohima also took part in the programme, strengthening the spirit of unity and regimental pride.
Meanwhile in Pungro, Kiphire, Assam Rifles conducted a yoga awareness and practice session with school children to mark the upcoming International Day of Yoga.
Trained personnel highlighted the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga, especially in managing stress and improving focus for students.
A joint demonstration of yoga asanas was held with Assam Rifles personnel and children participating together.
