Assam Rifles observe ‘Workers Day’

Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N), celebrated International Workers Day by carrying out various activities across the state on May 1. 

Kiphire battalion: Assam Rifles, Kiphire battalion, celebrated the day at Mimi, Longmatre and Pungro villages, under Kiphire, on May 1. Felicitation programme was conducted to honour services of labour community in which essential rations were provided to workers. 
Chieswema battalion: On the occasion, Assam Rifles, Chieswema battalion provided essential rations to the workers at Chieswema, Tseminyu, Jessami and Cheiphebozu  villages of Kohima and Phek . 
Phek battalion: To mark the day, Assam Rifles, Phek battalion, reached out to labourers by distributing basic COVID sanitary items at Phek, Ziphu, Meluri, Avangkhu, New Thewati and Akhen in Phek. Masks, sanitizers, multivitamins and essential rations were distributed to locals, whereby a total of 169 villagers benefitted.  
Jalukie Battalion:  On the occasion, Jalukie Battalion conducted wellness and Covid awareness campaign in Peren town.  A total of 47 labourers, who are involved in various road construction sites, were benefitted. 
Medziphema battalion: Assam Rifles, Medziphema battalion felicitated labourers on the occasion at Nihokhu, Kukidolong Ghaspani and Zubza Villages of Dimapur and Kohima. Importance of COVID-19 protocols was deliberated to the gathering, while masks and sanitizers were also distributed to the workers.
