DIMAPUR, AUG 2 (NPN): Assam Rifles organised a friendly cricket match with local residents at COB Akhegwo in Meluri district on August 1 as part of its efforts to strengthen ties with the community.
The match brought together local youth and Assam Rifles personnel, providing a platform for interaction through sports while promoting teamwork, healthy competition and mutual understanding. Participants displayed enthusiasm, discipline and sportsmanship throughout the event.
According to Assam Rifles, the initiative aimed to encourage positive youth engagement, build confidence and foster closer people-to-people interaction, while reinforcing trust and cooperation between the security forces and the local community.
Refreshments were served to all participants at the end of the match as a gesture of appreciation for their participation.
