A week tour to Agriculture University Johrat, Assam for the farmers of Noklak district, Nagaland organised by Shamatore battalion of Assam Rifles which was flagged off on January 6 by commander 7 Sector Assam Rifles, Brigadier Vikram Singh at Tuensang culminated on January 14.
According to PRO Defence, in his address, brigadier Vikram Singh, praised 14 Assam Rifles battalion for taking the initiative to send the farmers to Agriculture University. He assured the farmers that the event would be a “routine affair” and expressed hope that they would learn the nuances of modern farming techniques and ways to enhance the production.
He also requested them to share all the knowledge they have acquired to other farmers of their particular villages and region.
Mon Bn: Mon battalion of Assam Rifles provided lifesaving medical help to a six-year-old child, who was hit on his forehead by “an accidental firing of air gun”.
