Assam Rifles promote ‘yoga’ across Nagaland

To encourage the practice of “Yoga” for a healthy life, and in a run-up to the “9th International Day of Yoga (IDY)” on June 21, battalions of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General of Assam Rifles North (IGAR-N) conducted various activities related to “Yoga” across the state.
Peren: Assam Rifles organised “Yoga Camp” and “Yoga Capsule” as a part of “Yoga Utsav” on June 3 at Heningkunglwa High School, Peren, and ARPS (H), Jalukie, Peren respectively. Assam Rifles said the programmes were organised to encourage the students to inculcate yoga in their lifestyle. During the camp, the students were sensitised on the importance of mental and physical health followed by various yoga asanas. AR said the event was also aimed at educating the students about the various yoga postures and breathing techniques that help to keep them mentally and physically fit. During the event, the students were also educated on how yoga helps in building body awareness, mental strength, flexibility and fighting the fatigue of the body and mind.
Wokha: Living up to the motto, “Har Aangan Yoga”, Assam Rifles organised “Yoga Shivir” on June 3 at Don Bosco School Bhandari Higher Secondary School, Bhandari, Wokha. AR said the students and troops of Assam Rifles took active participation in the “Yoga Shivir” by practicing various “yoga asanas”.
Kohima: Kohima battalion organised “Yoga Shiver” on June 3 for the students of Christ King Higher Secondary School, Kohima. During the event, the students were taught about various yoga asanas and their benefits followed by practice sessions on various yoga asanas. A lecture on the topic, “Yoga and its importance in today’s era” was conducted followed by screening of a video on yoga basic steps.
