Assam Rifles seizes contraband near Indo-Myanmar border in Meluri

DIMAPUR

As part of its continued efforts to curb illegal activities along the Indo-Myanmar border, the Assam Rifles sconducted an intelligence-based operation on the night of August 2 and 3, near Meluri.
According to a press release from Assam Rifle source, acting on specific and credible inputs regarding the movement of contraband items, the troops swiftly launched an operation which led to the recovery of 192 bottles of illicit liquor, 4 grams of brown sugar, and 3 syringes. The seized items are valued at approximately Rs. 44,000.
The recovered contraband was handed over to Meluri Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings.
