Assam Rifles reaffirmed its commitment to community welfare by dedicating a Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification plant to the Zeme Women Organisation Children Home, an orphanage in Peren town. The initiative addressed the urgent need for safe drinking water, ensuring reliable supply for the children and significantly improving health and hygiene conditions. The effort was widely appreciated by the local community, Zeme Women Organisation and civil administration, with residents expressed gratitude.

In Dimpaur, a counselling session for families was organised by Assam Rifles under the Rubaru initiative, themed “Mera Wazood, Suno Meri Awaaz”. Conducted by psychological counsellor Dr. Vandini Setia, the session focused on “Read My Emotions” and offered valuable insights on family harmony and emotional well-being. Altogether, 32 families attended. Monthly sessions under Rubaru are being held to support families of Assam Rifles.
On April 15, Assam Rifles celebrated World Art Day with students of Government Primary School, Doyapur, Dimapur. Thirty students participated in interactive art sessions, drawing and painting competitions, and demonstrations conducted by personnel. The programme aimed at nurturing creativity, self-expression and holistic development among children, while strengthening community ties.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles also assisted in the wreath-laying ceremony organised as part of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) held in Nagaland from April 13 to 16. The solemn ceremony took place at the Commonwealth War Cemetery, Kohima, where Dr. Lalit Bhanot, president of the South Asian Athletics Federation, along with senior delegates and athletes, paid homage to soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice during World War II. Troops of Assam Rifles ensured smooth coordination and ceremonial support.
