Assembly election: training for counting personnel and officials

The counting of votes for assembly election in Nagaland will take place on March 2. In this connection, the last round of briefing and training for polling personnel and other officials assigned for ballot counting was held at the respective district headquarters on March 1 to acquire thorough knowledge of counting process, proceedings, relevant conduct rules and guidelines of ECI thereby no mistake is committed during counting of votes.

MOKOKCHUNG

The final briefing and training for the polling personnel assigned for ballot counting under Mokokchung district was held at Town Hall, Mokokchung on March 1, 2023.
The counting of ballot will be carried out in the office premises of Deputy Commissioner Mokokchnug on March 2 from 8 am onwards.
Master trainer, Vinod demonstrated and gave instruction on the procedures to be carried during the process of ballot counting.
Earlier, ADC Mokokchung, Chumamo Humtsoe expressed appreciation to all the polling officials for their collective effort in conducting the polling successfully in the district.
SDO(C) Mokokchung, Longti Sangtam briefed the polling officials on the procedures to be followed for Postal ballot vote counting while AEO Mokokchung, Renben Mozhui briefed them on the arrangement made for the counting process.

PEREN

The last round of training for Counting Supervisors, Assistants, and Tabulators was held at Town Hall, Peren Town. The training programme was held in the presence of Counting Observer for 6-Tening A/C, Purushottam Paswan.
The trainees were given a demonstration on the counting of votes recorded on EVMs, and the counting of postal ballots in detail and were also briefed on relevant Form filling procedures. He also informed them that counting for 6-Tening A/C, counting will be held at DB’s Court, ADC Office, Peren Town while for 7-Peren A/C, would be held at the Conference Hall of ADC Office, Peren Town. Further, he highlighted on the arrangements that were put in place at the Counting Centres. During the course of training, the trainees clarified their doubts with the Master Trainer. The training was imparted by Nodal Officer for Training Management & Master Trainer, Albert.

KIPHIRE

Training for counting personnel was held at DC’s Conference Hall Kiphire. The training was conducted in the presence of two ROs from both the 59th A/ C & 60th A/ C respectively.
At the training, Master Trainer Gagan encouraged all the trainees to be sincere and attentive while counting the votes so that any mistakes can be avoided.
Every table will be assisted by a Micro Observer and as per the directives from the ECI and therefor those assigned have been asked to reach the place of counting by 5 a.m. The counting will be held in two places for 59th A/C Seyochung – Sitimi DB’s Court DC Office and 60th A/ C Pungro- Kiphire in DC’s Conference Hall Kiphire.
