Assessment camp for senior citizens, PwDs in Wokha

The District Welfare Office, Wokha, conducted an assessment camp for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PwDs) from October 13 to 15, 2025, at the summer house-cum-guest house in Bhandari, Changpang Community Hall, and Ralan Community Hall.
According to DIPR report, the camp was organised under the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) and Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/Fitting of Aids and Appliances (ADIP) schemes, implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.
The primary objective of the camp was to identify and assess eligible beneficiaries for the provision of assistive devices aimed at improving quality of life and promoting independent living.
Under RVY, senior citizens belonging to the BPL category were provided with physical aids and assistive living devices. Under ADIP, persons with 40% or more disability were assisted with appliances to support physical, social, and psychological rehabilitation.
Registration and identification of beneficiaries were carried out at Bhandari, Changpang and Ralan, with a total of 76 individuals registered during the camp.
