ASSTOAN on lifting of ban on sand supply

Assam Sand Supply and Truck Owners’ Association Nagaland (ASSTOAN) has clarified that the ban on transportation of sand from Manja side, Assam was not imposed by the association, but by Sand Mahaldars’ and Suppliers Association’ (SMSA) Manja, Bakalia Sand Mahaldars’ Welfare Society (BSMWS) and Silveta Sand Mahaldars’ Welfare Association (SSMWA).

ASSTOAN in a statement further claimed that ban was only lifted by the SMSA, BSMWS and SSMWA only after through discussion and deliberation with the former at a meeting held on September 23, 2023 at the IB Conference Hall, Manja, wherein all the stockholders decided to lift the ban and resolved to solve the problems faced by the associations for once and for all.

The statement mentioned that the members present at the meeting also unanimously decided to reduce the numbers of trucks to regulate the transportation of sand and to control its price for transparency in the sand business, besides keeping away unscrupulous and unauthorised traders to spoil the healthily sand business. The registration of trucks was open to all genuine truck owners and suppliers without any bar or restriction.
For any further enquiry/clarification on the matter, the ASSTOAN said individuals/associations/groups could contact 9077667789 and 9615182965.
