ASTD to do away with ‘chief guest culture’

Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD) has resolved to do away with “chief guest culture” within its jurisdiction and to focus on reviving work culture in Naga society.
According to ASTD president, Supu Jamir the resolution was adopted during its general meeting on Saturday.
While mentioning about eradication of chief guest culture, Jamir said that it has become like a trend, where people have been targeting to receive something or the other from the chief guest rather than accepting knowledge from intellectual persons.
ASTD has also reaffirmed its stand on jot entertaining donations, selling of lotteries, tickets and calendar without the union’s permission failing which it said necessary action would be imposed against the defaulters.
The union has further extended support towards Foot Hill Construction Coordination Committee.
