Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD) has requested the state government to include the Nagaland Foothills Road Construction Committee (NFHRCC) as a participant in the consultative meeting scheduled to be held at the State Banquet Hall, Kohima on April 30, 2025.
In a press release, ASTD president Ningsangwaba Pongen and general secretary K. Tsukti Longchar said that one of the agendas of the meeting—Foothill Road—was a primary subject that lay at the very heart of NFHRCC’s long-standing mission.
Since its formation in 2013, the union said NFHRCC had been at the forefront of efforts on constructing foothill roads across Nagaland, which it described as “a critical project for both strategic connectivity and economic development in the region.”
ASTD said it was both logical and necessary for NFHRCC to be represented in the upcoming discussions given their extensive involvement and in-depth knowledge of the project.
It said NFHRCC’s insights and on-ground experience would contribute significantly to any policy or decision-making process concerning road infrastructure, especially in areas covered by the foothill corridor.
