Angami Students’ Union (ASU) has once again reiterated its appeal for a noise-free environment during the ongoing HSLC, HSSLC, and CBSE exams, emphasizing the need for a conducive atmosphere for students.
However, ASU president Khriesamhalie David Mere and vice president & convenor grievances cell, Thejalhoukho Khawakhrie in a press note said that despite the appeal, the union received numerous complaints regarding non-compliance, particularly from Assam Rifles IGAR (North), D Block Kohima, as well as certain cafés, restaurants, and areas within Kohima town where loud music continues to be played at unusual hours.
Taking a firm stand, ASU stated that it remains resolute in initiating any measures/action to deal with such cases jeopardize the career of the students’ community. However, acknowledging the competency of the district administration, the union said it has formally submitted a complaint to the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima on February 16.
The union has once again appealed to the public, individuals and other entities to extend their cooperation by abstaining from public nuisance in order to allow a conducive environment for students’ appearing their exams.
It has also urged colony panchayats, councils, and youth organizations to ensure that such activities are not tolerated within their localities. “Let us not only celebrate the success of a student but also encourage and ameliorate their well-being,” ASU stated.
