The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) has served a 48-hour deadline on the power department, effective from February 7, demanding uninterrupted power supply throughout Kohima district, particularly during the exam period.
In a letter to EE (Power) Kohima division, ASU president Khriesamhalie David Mere and general secretary Vimeyiekho Vitso said it was utterly alarming to witness that the Power department “has now possibly become the often irritation of the students’ community, whereby during the most crucial exams, i.e. HSLC & HSSLC, students are greeted with erratic power supply.” Demanding complete redressal within the deadline, ASU said that the union would be “constrained to ensure a conducive electricity supply by resorting to any befitting pursuance”, if their demand was not met positively.
