DIMAPUR, MAY 31 (NPN): Ao Students Union Dimapur (ASUD) has lauded the state government for the implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) system in Dimapur district and Nagaland police for their diligent efforts in enforcing the regulations. In a press release, ASUD president Imnatemsu Pongen and general secretary Imnameren Walling acknowledged ILP implementation as a critical measure towards safeguarding the distinct cultural heritage, land rights, and demographic integrity of the indigenous Naga people. The union said it also addressed a fundamental imperative for the protection of Naga identity and future generations.
In this regard, ASUD has appealed to the state government to establish “robust modalities” for comprehensive coordination among civil society organizations (CSOs), village councils, and student bodies. The union maintained that the collaborative framework was essential for the successful, holistic, and sustainable implementation of ILP.
