Athlete database initiative launched in Dimapur

DIMAPUR, JUN 22 (NPN): The Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland, has announced plans to create a unified single-window digital portal dedicated to athlete welfare schemes. As part of this initiative, a comprehensive digital database of athletes will be compiled to ensure transparency, ease of access, and effective monitoring of welfare and development programmes.
According to the District Youth Resources and Sports Officer (DYRSO), Dimapur, N. Vineikholie, all District Sports Associations under Dimapur and Niuland have been directed to compile athlete data in the prescribed format. The compiled information must be submitted to the DYRSO office in Dimapur on or before July 24, 2026, for onward submission to the Directorate of Youth Resources and Sports. The initiative is expected to streamline athlete-related schemes and provide a centralized platform for monitoring progress and extending support.
