Acting on a FIR lodged at North Police station, Kohima on May 8 by a prominent citizen that an unknown person withdrew an amount of Rs. 23,000 from his ATM card since May 5 on numerous times, Kohima police swung into action and caught the defrauder through CCTV footages.
SDPO & PRO, Kohima, Atu Zumvu stated that on the receipt of the FIR, the CCTV footage of the particular ATM booth was thoroughly checked and after giving concerted efforts for more than twelve days, a breakthrough was finally made on May 20 and the accused of the case namely, Ruokouvolie (20 yrs) S/0 – Zhapise, Village – Nerhema, P/A – Bayavü colony Kohima was arrested by the investigating agency.
The accused of the case admitted to have withdrawn a cash of Rs. 23,500/- and also recovered two brand new mobile phone (i-ball, Karbonn), one brand new shirt, one brand new pants (grey colour),one brand new earpiece and one brand new grey colour shoes which were purchased with the stolen cash were recovered from his possession. Kohima police also recovered the stolen ATM card bearing card no. 6220180021400144864 from his possession.
In this connection, a regular case is registered against him for conducting further investigation.
