
ATMA Dimapur Niuland block conducted demonstration programme on “method demonstration on application of sulphur liquid fertilizer on oilseed crops” at Paddy Farm School, Toshiho village on January 19 with ACTO (Agronomy), KVK (ICAR), Jharnapani Roben Singh, as resource person.
A press release by ATMA Dimapur Niuland block stated that, resource person informed that sulphur was secondary nutrient liquid fertilizer containing sulphur in easily absorbable form and corrects deficiency in all field, horticulture and plantation crops. He further stated that sulphur was the most essential plant nutrient for synthesis of proteins, oils and vitamins within the plants, adding that it was used as foliar application and has to be used 20 days and 40 days after sowing and should be sprayed during evening hours.
Sulphur liquid fertilizers were distributed to 18 participants who cultivated oilseeds after harvest of paddy during November to December last year.
