ATMA conducts trainings and demonstration on farming

Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) conducted various training programmes, demonstrations and distributed farming tools to the farmers across the state.


ATMA Kobulong block: To facilitate better farming practices and more production ATMA Kobulong block Mokokchung conducted a training on the topic “System of Feeding and Biosecurity in Swine” on August 19, at Longpa village.


A press release from ATMA Kobulong Block, Mokokchung DPD& BTT Convenor Rongsennungla stated that the resource person was Dr. Chubasanen, Mini Dairy Plant, Mokokchung general manager and district livestock development officer. The farmers were trained on the preparation and application of Potash solution to disinfect the pig sty. Administration of dewormer , care and management of the swine were also highlighted. Potash and dewormer were distributed to the 22 farmers, who attended the training.
Meanwhile, the block also conducted a demonstration on “Production Technology of onion” on August 19, at Longpa village.

Resource person ATMA BTM C Amongla Jamir said that onion was one of the important commercial crops grown in the country for both domestic consumption and export.
She also emphasized on maintaining and management of nursery bed. Hands on demonstration on nursery bed preparation was also carried out and onion seeds were distributed to the 11 farmers.


ATMA Chessore block: ATMA Tuensang, Chessore block conducted training and demonstration programme on various topic on August 17, at Shiponger village.


During the training program on fish pond management ATM Dekhingbe explained on the importance of pre-stocking pond management, detection of PH value and use of lime to correct the acidity. Demonstration on preparation of “Jeevamrutha” was carried out by resource person ATM Wapangtoshi.


ATMA Mon: ATMA Mon, Tizit block conducted training programme on importance of book keeping for Self Help Groups (SHGs) on August 14, at Jaboka village. Resource person K Mhonchumo stressed on the importance of book keeping for SHGs. At the end of the training record register were distributed to the SHGs.


ATMA Kuhuboto: ATMA Dimapur, Kuhuboto block conducted demonstration on “Line Transplanting of Paddy” on August 7 under Kuhuboto Block, Dimapur.
