ATMA conducts trainings and demonstrations

In an effort to create awareness on importance of biofertilizers and its benefits, Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) ATMA Dimapur, Dhansiripar Block and Kobulong block organised a training and demonstration programme for farmers.

ATMA Dimapur organized training on “Promotion of winter vegetables and their cultivation for livelihood security”, and demonstration on nursery bed preparation for Tomato, at Bade Village, on August 18.


A press release by ATMA Dhansari block stated that resource person, HEA DHO, Chumoukedima, Sentsuthung Yanthan, emphasized on methodology and various ideas on production of vegetable crops including tomato with use of organic sources.


He the farmers for safe and sustainable pest management methods as part of policies promoting winter cultivation of vegetables.


ATMA Kobulong Block: ATMA Kobulong block in convergence with FOCUS DMU Mokokchung, conducted demonstration on the topic “Application of Bio fertilizers to improve crop quality and yield”, at Longjang village on August 21.


A press release by ATMA Kobulong Block, stated that resource person, Assistant Technology Manager, ATMA Chuchuyimlang block, Abenla B Jamir, stressed on four types of biofertilizers namely Azobacter, Azospirillium, Rhizobium and Phosphoitika, application of biofertilizers such as seedling root dip, seed treatment and soil treatment were explained.


ATMA Kobulong block, also conducted a demonstration on “Good Agricultural Practices of Potato” with the objective to promote good cultivation practices and management to enhance production.


C.Amongla Jamir BTM, ATMA as the resource person covered aspects of package of practices of Potato. Hands on demonstration on land preparation, proper method of sowing and dehaulming were imparted to the farmers.
The resource person also deliberated on sowing time, irrigation, intercultural operations , disease and post-harvest management. Altogether 14 farmers attended the demonstration programme.
