ATMA conducts within state farmers’ training

Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Mokokchung conducted two days within state farmers training on February 18 and 19, on “value addition of agricultural and horticultural crops” in Dimapur. 

A press release by district agriculture officer and PD, ATMA, stated that on the first day, hands on demonstration on value addition and food processing was conducted with horticulture officer, Neisetuonuo Debbie and assistant technical expert, state horticulture nursery, department of horticulture, Dimapur, Sapong, as resource persons. 
Farmers were taught to make pineapple squash, juice, tomato sauce, mushroom pickle, various preservation methods and up skilled their knowledge on packaging and bottle sterilisation. 
Later, they were later taken to medicinal and aromatic unit, sugar mill village, 5th Mile, Dimapur where resource person, proprietor, Origins, Nagaland, K Nihokhu Chophi demonstrated process of various medicinal and aromatic plants to manufacture green herbal tea.
Meanwhile on the second day farmers, were taken to Pristine Foods, Nagaland, owned by Apulle Phesao for training on various fruit candies processing and juice making.
Altogether, ten farmers along with seven ATMA staff led by deputy project director, ATMA, Mokokchung Sentinaro Longchar attended the training.
