Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Dimapur in collaboration with M/S Hill enterprises, Dimapur organized a state farmers training here on Friday at ATMA training hall Dimapur.
The resource persons of the training were from Tuflex Perry Enterprises, assistant manager, Shyam K. Metha, Orga Field Agro Products, S.P. Ghosh and Bio Crop Science Pvt Limited, project officer, Probal Bhattacharjee.
In the training, Shyam K Metha gave a brief report on agro products, in which he explained the quality range of polymer nets and knitted fabrics to the farmers. He advised the farmers to use nets/sheets from 50% to 70% of green, black and white as per the climatic conditions of Northeast. He also said that if the nets exceed more than 70% of the sheet than crops or flowers will be damaged.
While speaking on the topic of organic farming, S.P Ghosh said that about 100% pure organic liquid manure made out from various natural ingredients are excellent plant food for all crops. He also informed the farmers about using seaweed extracts for plant growth and stress tolerance. He presented detailed information about organic farming and gave directions on how to use organic manures.
Also, Probal Bhattacharjee, speaking on rodent management, educated the farmers on quick bayt, a highly effective and advanced fly control paint on solution, which helps get rid of flies within a few minutes of contact.
He also explained in brief the key benefits, methods of application and precautions of quick bayt paint. The programme was chaired by deputy project director ATMA, Janet Chishi, while the welcome address was delivered by DSCO, department of soil and water conservation, Hovuto Zhimomi. A short speech was also given by a representative from M/S Hill enterprises, Dimapur. A vote of thanks was proposed by deputy project director ATMA, Tonikali.
