ATMA-Farmers interaction prog

One day interaction programme between Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) and farmers, along with 3rd party monitoring teams from Nagaland University, School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development (SASRD), Medziphema was held at Ekokju village under Wokha district, Thursday.
In the programme, ATMA project director, Dr.  Mhonchan Shitiri highlighted the importance of farmer -ATMA interaction. He also assured the farmers to provide a cutter machine for mushrooms to the farmers.
Convenor of the team, Dr.Tongpang encourage the farmers to use the fertile land, and added that the “beauty is in the field”. He further, discussed about soyabean ‘lungyim’ cultivation and introduced a book on soyabean. Coordinator and an agronomist, Dr. Santosh, SASRD Dimapur lauded and encouraged the hard work of the farmers and said that he would assist to coordinate with concerned department to avail facilities.
Chairman, Mongathung Ezung and Secretary, Lankonthung Ezung of Ekokju village, women’s representative, and Fishery Inspector (FI) Mhomo also gave short speeches.
Fishery Inspector (FI) Mhomo highlighted that the “Integrated Farm School” (IFS) at Ekokju village was established in 2015 and is progressing in the field of ginger cultivation, banana, soyabean, fishery and mushroom.
He said soon training would be imparted to the farmers on aloe vera cultivation and its usages and the introduction of soaps making.
