ATMA Kobulong block, conducted training, demonstration and field day programme (FDP) from July 25 to 28, at Chami, Longpa and Yisemyong villages.
A press release by ATMA Kobulong block stated that, training on sequential cropping of paddy-pulses and scientific management on banana cultivation, while demonstration on chilly, soyabean and nutrient management on banana were conducted, with resource persons as KVK, ACTO, Mkg, Renbemo, and KVK, ACTO, Mkg, Samuel Sangtam.
FDP on disease resistant varieties on chilly and tomato, was also conducted, where resource person Renbemo highlighted on diseases resistant varieties, in comparison to locally available varieties with aim to popularize and to introduce varieties in the district since the introduced varieties were susceptible to diseases such as chilli veinal mottle virus and powdery mildew in chillies and bacterial wilt, early blight and tomato leaf curl virus in tomatoes.
In a separate programme, revolving funds and seed money were handed over to various FSGs and FIGs.Inputs such as bio- pesticides, bio-insecticides, various seeds and related agri farming tools were distributed to the participants.
