ATMA Kuhuboto, Tening blocks hold demo and capacity building

ATMA Kuhuboto Block conducted demonstration programme on cultivation practices of groundnut at Vihokhu village on April 16, aimed at promoting scientific farming techniques among local farmers.


A press release by ATMA Kuhuto block stated that resource person ATM Kaiho Achumi provided technical training on improved methods of groundnut cultivation, covering aspects such as land preparation, seed treatment, spacing, and pest management.


A total of nine farmers participated in the event. Alongside the demonstration, the release added that BTM, Akavi Holo elaborated on capacity building session where he emphasized on empowering women through formation of Self Help Groups (SHGs).


Participants were encouraged to form SHGs with clear objective, open bank accounts, and take up income generating activities to support sustainable livelihoods.
The programme concluded with the distribution of agricultural tools, groundnut seeds, and training kits to all participants


ATMA Tening block: Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Peren, Tening Block, conducted one day demonstration and capacity building program at Heiranglwa village on April 17, focusing on livestock health management and value addition in local produce.


A press release by the block stated that in the first session, resource person, ATM, Rokozhalie Namdau, dwelled on piggery segment, and conducted practical demonstration on piggery vaccination, de-worming, and common disease management.


He emphasized on importance of regular health check-up, timely vaccinations, and maintaining hygiene in pig shelters, while veterinary medicines were also distributed among the farmers to support effective livestock care.


The release added that the second session focused on capacity building in King Chilli pickle making, led by BTM, Lily Tungoe, as the resource person, who trained in hygienic preparation, preservation, and packaging methods to enhance value addition and promote small-scale entrepreneurship. Altogether, 15 farmers attended the programme.
